In July 2020 Treborcé Vineyards
submitted their formal application for Biodynamic certification to the Demeter
Association.
In January 2017 Treborcé Vineyards
began farming Biodynamically.
For a wine to be labeled “Biodynamic” it has to meet standards laid down by
the Demeter Association, an internationally
recognized certifying body. Amongst the many benefits to the vineyard, Biodynamic
farming practices require the elimination of the use of pesticides and other
dangerous chemicals (e.g. "RoundUp", "Chateau", etc...),
which is a huge plus for the environment and extremely beneficial to the grapevines.
Starting in 2013 all our replants
have been obtained from the coveted nursery stock from Martinez Orchards,
Winters CA. Both Zinfandel and Primitivo clones have been interplanted since
they both share the same DNA.
Originally planted in 1999 (8’
